David A. McGowan is a Partner with the international accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP ("PwC") based in Los Angeles. He practices in the Advisory Services - Dispute Analysis & Investigations (“DA&I”) Group which focuses on corporate investigations, internal financial control studies, and expert witness testimony.
Mr. McGowan's extensive background includes more than 35 years of financial and general management responsibilities including senior management positions with First Bank System (currently U.S. Bancorp), Norwest Corporation (currently Wells Fargo Corp.), Medtronic, Inc. and Peat Marwick & Mitchell (currently KPMG). In addition, he directed the Minneapolis Financial Advisory Services practice of Coopers & Lybrand L.L.P. (predecessor firm to PwC) for seven years. His background offers expertise in a variety of industries.
Mr. McGowan is a graduate of University of Denver where he majored in Accounting and Finance and received his MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), holds the Certificate of Management Accounting (CMA) as well as a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). He formerly served on the Board of Directors for Health Systems Minnesota and on the Board of Directors for various foundations. Mr. McGowan is also a past President of the Twin City Chapter of Financial Executives Institute.
